Metal processing industry
For over 50 years, Vibrowest has been supplying practical solutions to the challenging metallurgy industry. From sieves to ultrasonic deblinding solutions, we have the right equipment and knowledge to help improve the quality of your metal powders.
In all sectors of metal powder production, there is a requirement for accurate particle size distribution.
Separation equipment is typically required as a form of quality insurance or to refine or correct metal powder products.
Vibrowest sieves are suitable and popular for removing any substandard or unwanted matter or to refine metal powders.
Used in many metallurgy companies, sieving machines are best to separate extremely difficult-to-sieve materials.
In producing metal powders is very important that the screener does not have 90-degree angles and hidden surfaces where material collects and causes cross-contamination problems. And since the combination and quantities of a metal powder’s alloys and trace elements determine the characteristics of the final product, even a small deviation in product’s formula can render it unusable.
Our screener’s polished stainless steel finish provides a smooth material contact surface so there is less chance for material to stick to it, minimizing cross-contamination and making cleaning easier.
In our screeners clean out is easy and cross-contamination is practically eliminated.
Our sieving equipment is suitable for almost any type of metal. Below are a few examples of metal products we have experience with.
Mesh blinding
Mesh blinding is the most common problem faced by metal powder producers, but our ultrasonic equipment can help improve your processes at many points in production.
It occurs when either one or a combination of particles sits on or in an aperture of the mesh and stay there, or particles adhere to the mesh wires preventing other particles from passing through these openings. This is due to static adhesion, interlocking or irregular shaped particles or agglomeration.
Mesh blinding cause a reduced sieving capacity and can also effect a reduced sieve mesh life.
Vibrowest ultrasonic system is very important in sieving industry and in particular in metal powder industry.
The method of ultrasonically exciting the stainless steel mesh wires by high-frequency, low-amplitude vibration, dissipates static and eliminates mesh blinding.
Vibrowest turbosonic system allows separations of light powders with meshes ranging from 0,250 mm to 0,025 mm (25 micron).
Advantages
- Productivity:
sieve on finer meshes (as low as 25 μm) and obtain a better quality final product. Better sieving results are reached combining mechanical and ultrasonic vibrations
- Performance:
higher throughputs and screening efficiency, even for materials which are difficult to screen;
increase your sieving capacities up to 10 times by enabling powders to pass through screens faster by reducing screen overload and frequency of mesh cleaning.
- Maintenance:
prevent blinding of fine mesh, keep constantly clean the screening surface and avoid screen clogging; guarantee a longer screen life;
eliminate mesh damage caused by mechanical deblinding systems.
- Set Up:
the automatic frequency control selects the right frequency.
